Keeping my tones close

My closet finally works together too, because I keep my tones close. In New York my entire palette was black, off black, dark black, light black, and the slightly faded black I saved for Fridays when I was feeling casual. Here I reach for navy and burgundy far more than I ever reach for black, and everything else lives in that natural world of khaki and olive, cream, blue, denim, and a rosy taupe that does something nice for my skin.

Summer is its own story. I've reached the point where I'm completely at peace with almost everything I own being white or some light shade of it, and I go heavy, heavy on the white from June on, because it feels so fresh and feminine and every accessory I own looks beautiful against it. With all of that living together, I can blindly grab ten pieces for a week in Naples and know every one of them goes with the others, and it took me an embarrassingly long time to arrive at something that obvious.
